El funcionament de Drupal és que SEMRPE hi ha dues versions en manteniment i una en desenvolupament.

Actualment tenim Drupal 5 i Drupal 6 en manteniment i Drupal 7 en desenvolupament.

La versió 6 ha suposat millores, sobretot alhora de fer webs multilingües però no és un salt espectacular com es pretén fer amb la versió 7.

A+a+ que per fer una petita web Drupal 6.4 esta bé però per fer un lloc gran amb un us extensió dels seus mòduls encara noe stà preparat, hi han hagut problemes per portar a la versió 6 mòduls importantíssim com Views i CCK, així que per fer webs professionals que tirin de forma extensa dels mòduls crec que encara caldrà esperar a que anem pel Drupal 6.5 i CCK, Views, Calendar & company surtin de les versions beta i Release Candidate.
